Goodbye 2018

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.”

T.S. Eliot

The last day of the year, a day traditionally given over to reflections about the past.

For us, 2018 was all about reflections on the past:

Cleaning out two houses, numerous farm buildings and two yard sites.

Going through old documents, business and personal correspondence.

Shredding. A lot of shredding.

Holding yard sales and posting items for sale online.

Donating to charities.

Making trips to the garbage dump.

So much remembering.

And the job is not yet done, although there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That light is the date on a calendar when it MUST be done.

We are ready to say goodbye to the year that was. We are ready to say hello to the new. There will be more changes for us in 2019.

Happy New Year to all.
